The open ended post! Manchester United Vs Liverpool

My last post was in August 2014,after sacrificing on my night's sleep and having to pay the price for it the very next day. But it felt good to write after such a long time and even now experiencing the same feeling. Though I do not know where this post is heading, even then just to write something is in itself a satisfying feeling.

This year went by in the trace of a bullet, explored two new cities , a career which till a couple of years back was a distant dream,so all in all ,feeling complete .

Coming back to things which matter a little more,in my last post ,I had mentioned that it could be the same story for Manchester united once again after they slumped to 2-1 defeat at home in their 1st match of the season against Swansea.

15 matches into the season ,sitting at the 3rd spot aand on a 5 match winning streak ,even after being plagued by 40 odd injuries,Van Gaal has proved to lift the side up till this point. A mouth watering clash against Arch rivals Liverpool beckons this Sunday and a win would further cement their position in the top 4 and would certainly give them a boost for guaranteeing themselves a champions league spot.

Luis Suarez is a distant memory: - Manchester United Vs Liverpool: 4 things that have changed since their last meeting

Liverpool look a shadow of what they were last season, when they were pushing for the title and were looking to end their 2 decade long title drought. With Suarez and Sturridge teaming up and causing havoc to the opponent's defence, it seemed as if all was well for Liverpool once more , but with Suarez moving on to greener pastures and Sturridge sidelined due to injury , the make shift attacking trio of Liverpool has managed just 3 goals between them till this point.

The fan favourite Balotelli has been in appalling form ,still awaiting his first premier league goal for Liverpool . Last year at this point ,Moyes was under tremendous pressure to produce results for united , look how the tables have turned with United sitting relatively comfortably but Rodgers having to fight for his job and struggling to keep his team in the top half of the table

An early champions league exit would not have helped his team's confidence at all and at this point even a draw would seem like a great result when Rodgers and co. head to old Trafford tomorrow. The photo posted above, mocking Chelsea ,Tottenham and their latest European victims Liverpool was uploaded by FC Basel to their official Instagram account and was later conveniently removed. I am still wondering if they are really good at social media or just very very bad at it. We'l see what they do if drawn against another English team in the round of 16 this time.

There is speculation about Falcao making  a return in tomorrow's clash ,only time will tell as to how true that speculation is . United still have a lot of injury woes and if that could be sorted out as soon as possible , it would further strengthen the side .As far as Liverpool go ,putting the make shift United defence under pressure early is the best way to go tomorrow and Steven Gerrard's recent form shows that he can still torment any side on his day.

Steven Gerrard has scored more goals (five) than any other away player at Old Trafford in the Premier League

An equally important match for both teams, for different reasons though ,whatever the result be ,a pulsating contest is in store this Sunday evening.
